Scripture: John 18:36 – Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would fight, so that i should not be delivered to the Jews but now my kingdom is not here.
First thing we realize here is that the kingdom of God was and still is spiritual (Jesus made it clear). If His kingdom was earthly then he would have allowed His servants/disciples to engage in an earthly war which would not benefit His assignment and take away from who He was and is.
Jesus said, i would have called 10,000 angels (Matthew 26:53) if He needed to be engaged in a fight because His disciples did not have the capacity to defend Him. His army was and is spiritual thus angels are always at His disposal. Christ chose to die (John 10:17). As believers, we too do not have to fight each other nor the world. Scripture says we wrestle not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). Our fight is spiritual because like Christ, we too do not belong to this world (John 15:19). Our responsibility is to love each other and encourage each other in the Lord. We should be preaching Jesus to the world (Romans 10:14).
As we go throughout this week, lets be intentional about loving each other, walking in obedience to the Word of God. Lets lean in to the Holy Spirit, our Helper and allow Him to help us go to war in the Spirit to shift things in the natural. Remember our warfare is not carnal but mighty through God. We have the backing of heaven. We have access to the Holy Spirit, who will lead us in battle. Put on the Whole Armor of God and take up your shield of faith and stand with your sword drawn.
We are not alone. Abide in Him and He will abide with us. You are loved unconditionally.
